Sad Acceptance that the Philippines is so flawed as to be unworkable still leads to hope

An email where I have to say something else from what I really think:

“Re your plans with ERPNext, it would be great if we come to that point where companies learn it for themselves and consume resources in our cloud. There’s a reason why western SaaS companies find it difficult to scale in Asian countries – a major one is that Asians prefer consulting than DIY. Perhaps it’s cultural, as this preference is also reflected in their day-to-day lives.”

It is because Filipino companies think People are more disposable and avoid investing in them. Life in the Philippines is CHEAP and we easily create all these reasons and mindset to demonize the struggling worker. A Consultant is cheaper because the consultant prices for Future Biz, asking the Consultant to TRAIN your people means no future biz and thus the Consultant will price higher.

What makes my sad optimistic and naive endeavor make sense is that I’m still Naive and Optimistic enough to put myself out there and help when getting hurt once is enough to say never. That there are people who need our help – this service – and we need to FIND THEM. FIND the PEOPLE Who we can help at little cost to us even if we don’t get anything in return. To give back what was given to us.

There are MANY CRAZY people online. ANTI-Maskers, Conspiracy Believers, Sociopaths exist – but WHY CAN’T good people Exist? People Open and forgiving? One of the things I realized about the internet is that All sorts of people are accessible, there are Dangerous People out there – but there are people who need help and are good people.

My problem with our Biz Plan is we are Sitting on our ass on a CLOUD INFRA service without understanding the market. Our plan is for the leads to fall in our lap and never suffer the vulnerability to understand and be wrong.

My acceptance is that this is the Naive and Optimistic thing that attacks a problem by assuming that there are good people to find – people to help and its ok if they don’t pick up our service as long as they survive. That the value of learning from these people make our product better is the BEST strategy we have in this time of uncertainty even if we can’t make a buck from this people.

Thankfully I’m the IT head of a Construction and Manufacturing company. Why not dream about helping instead of getting rich – we don’t feel pain anyway in the dream.

ERPNext  + our CLOUD INFRA – our company to provide a valuable service to Services, Manufacturing, and Construction that we couldn’t do before. Before our company can only provide to IT-BPO because of their Furniture and Construction requirements. Bayesian and Set Theory.

Of the 80% of the GDP or Workforce of the Country falls under Construction, Services, and Manufacturing. Let’s assume of our 40M working Filipinos this 80% is 32M. (Construction 4M, Manufacturing 4M, and Services 20M; Agriculture is 8M )

Of that GROUP, their Logistics and Manual Operations are 20% (Of that 32M * 20% 6.4M)

Of that GROUP 6.4M only 50% is within Reach of Branches. 3.2M workers

Of that GROUP 50% is at a level of maturity that they would need and afford our Product 1.6M

Of that group, at 1.6M if I assume the mode size is 200 people 8,000 Biz with a Pandemic starved size of 20M/year of Ops cost. each with about 2-3 IT who are multi-tasking and afraid for their jobs. Who need PCs, expand their LAN, and find time to learn a better way of operating. at 100 average End users thats a 4Core x16GB-RAM system.

Of that group we need a focus group to find out what are the requirements and of those requirements what are those we can quickly provide for fat adoption? Identify our Strengths and make it easier to use and more accessible.

My Loss and Optimism – is this irrational hope that I find other souls to help and together we can help fix what is so broken. One cannot let go of the fear and anxiety of what the people have become unless we move on to loss and acceptance.
