With the 30GB database (its a 1.3GB download but unzipped becomes 30GB) I am migrating from my A12 laptop to this Optiplex 3020 with an I3-4000 (2015) desktop. Hopefully the cores are really more powerful because Opening 50k row CSV files are going to be really shitty.
Its conflicting with my budget constraints I need a second Monitor and a GPU for this small-form-factor desktop that would add up for 3k but I have another project competing for those resources.
I wish I had 2 x 22″ monitors for my failing eyes and a bit more of GPU power. (second 22″ is 2k in lazada and a GPU that MAY work is 800; not for gaming just for the second monitor).
Then putting “Credits” in Cloud Sigma or AliCloud is going to be another competing cost of funds as I figure out how to Upload and RUN our company’s new ERP. Strangely Open Virtualization Archive Files (OVA) are not that popular.
I think there is malware in my W10. when I tried to check my password database all of a sudden the cores started jumping and it was freezing. what are the odds I got something in my windows like a keylogger.
Rebuilding my Desktop from scratch – syncing cloud backups – has gotten easier over time. the tech has gotten more user friendly every time I make a fresh install of Ubuntu is not so bad. It made this 5 year old desktop lively.
I’m really tempted to USE this make my evaluation: do I really need windows? as INSYNC has made Gdrive work with Ubuntu (not as good as Gdrive app but good enough).
