Leadership Styles

I am annoyed when the idea of leadership or management is Ordering People around. Life and Work is just so much more complicated than that I have a bad reaction to that level of oversimplification. 

Work is complex, and it gets more complex as we try to get better at it. Its so complex that Its necessary to document and analyze what we do. So I get it why when ever I bring a problem to my mentor he ask’s me “Where are the process documents?” because we shouldnt try to communicate complex situations verbally but methodically and in a written method.

I want to talk about Leadership Styles. Particularly Training, Setting goals and constraints, and Problem Solving. Because before the idea of management was Nagging/Following Up, Collecting Information, and Decision Making and I believe that is also a tiny aspect what one needs to do in an organization. The largest aspect is not being the Decision Maker but Designing the Decision Making – and to Design How a group of people make decisions means:
  1. Designing the Process they (the workers, teams, and departments) make decision.
  2. Training them to be able to develop their Process of making decisions. 
  3. and being able to refine and create the Tools by which they Learn to develop their Decision Making process. 

Its a bit Meta because this is the Root Cause if we go by several bounds. 


Example:
Why do we make bad decisions? 
Because we are not informed? How do we do what we do? 
We do things via verbal instruction, job descriptions,  and goals and constraints inferred (guessed) based on the company’s history and strengths.  
How do we know it works, how reliable is it? We don’t we just hope and guess every time. 
Why are we not informed? because we keep our Information inaccessible? 
Why is it inaccessible? Because we dont have a process of storing and using the data. Why dont we have a process of making the data accessible? Because no one sees the point of keeping processes. Why do people not see the point of keeping processes – because the leadership doesnt use it? Why does the leadership doesnt use it? Because they are in a hurry. Why are they in a hurry because they are doing a lot of things? Why are they doing so much more than they have time for? Because they don’t know how to prioritize and design a better way of doing their job. Why don’t they know a better way of doing their Job? Because no one knows how to self improve or to improve processes? Why does no one know what? We got into this biz improvising because of the market conditions when the company was founded.  
If I go far back enough it haunts me that our company history was because of the terrible forces in play during the 90s: Syndicated Unions that closed many companies (that were Chinese owned ), Terrible Corruption that rewarded the most opportunist, and our network. We were born from perfect market conditions that allowed us to improvise a lot of what we did, but as we got bigger Improvisation cannot work anymore and the company’s and entities we dealt with required greater levels of certainty and capability. 
As a family that came from making Whole Roast Pigs we were not very educated or valued education lolz. I can’t blame them because 90% of our exposure to education was around people who followed the map and not the reality. As improvisational and charming are my Father’s family was we were never rules followers (unlike my Mother’s side). In the Philippines with networking and oligarchies hard work didnt pay off and people who knew how to apply Academic education in real life were non-existant. They were as non-existent in any country, especially in the philippines. In the Philippines having no “degree” meant that one was not educated lolz despite their level of skill. We hand out degrees to Oligargs etc.. 
So training people to be better decision makers and the skills to improve their own working conditions were not exactly a skill nor a style accessible to me or 99% of the people I knew. The ability to learn at such fast rates as I do now and apply them is wholey in accessible. Only the great New Oligarchs figured some of it out, and only make such insight availble to their wealth of scions. I on the other hand realized my sibs dont want this shit and I can’t afford to have scions a plenty lolz. So my only recourse is just to give up all my knowledge and train and train until everyone is good enough to realize they can hire themselves into wealthier companies. 
There are key advantages to this leadership style:

  1. Teaching Others refines my technique more than practice ever does. Because if someone fails to perform the ability, my  understanding of it is in question. 
  2. Teaching and Documenting it as fast as possible frees me to experiment and try other things. Having others who can perform the skills allow me greater levels of sophistication as I observe and learn in the entropic wake of other practitioners.
  3. This method is Empowering to others. And being surrounded by empowered individuals and being able to create empowered individuals creates an great amount of psychological security. 
I hope my son and daughter would be the product of an early access to Education by Application and Action. the way a Gamer would love to have their child get bonus stats early. Daddy did all the grinding so that his kids can start work on the more sophisticated  expressions of the empowering skills. Imagining how my children can possibly express the skills when they hit puberty and their minds race at 10x the speed facilitated by the conditioning and training. I want to see what expression will my game addicted son’s pysche turns into channeled into self improvement.
