Trixbox; VirtualBox

Technically I’m still working, when I fiddle with the Trixbox. I would, personally, extend my work to even this blog because the method I learn by is through blogging/journalizing what I learn and what the experiences are when I learned something new.

Trixbox CE (Community Edition aka Open Source Version). I found an awesome blog to learn using the trixbox. Call-cheap.blogspot.com is very recent and awesome tutorial. Combined with Trixbox without Tears, is another free tutorial that can be found online. Now my desktop at home will serve as my Trixbox, although it will need to be left on when being used as such, and I have to leave it in the “den” where the PSTN/Telephone line is right now.

I realized that learning it is a bit of a breeze. I just need 12 hours to concentrate and focus on it entirely. And access to the consultant who is going to train our entire IT regarding the matter. I capture the skills myself, I can create the documentation and training and testing regimen (ideally with the help of a Executive Assistant or secretary who can write well).

VirtualBox OSE (Open Source Edition). Virtual Box or Virtual machines will be the means by which I will learn more about network and servers. With just a home desktop, I can begin tinkering safely

Struggling with Ubuntu 11.10. Its hard because I’m so used to the 11.04 and gnome desktop. Its really throwing me a curveball. I was able to find the desktop technican skillset for Ubuntu 10.04 and plan to work in accomplishing that (roughly at the same time as my all my other trainings).

I’ll save writing about Mission Vision and “what do you consider a success” exercise in my next post.
