Less Messy Brewing of Milk Tea at home

Loose Leaf tea is gloriously strong. Not as strong as coffee gram to gram, but close enough. Hopefully I get corrected online or someone can comment some tips.

Assad Cafe in Manila

A second location is 15 minutes walk away from me. I have not confirmed where it is, but my friends tell me its beside music 21 plaza.

Tools

  1. A Narrow Stove Top Pitcher. $15 usd
  2. Noodle Strainer $3 usd
  3. Coffee Filter $2 usd
  4. Mittens because all the tools there conduct.

Instructions

  1. Put the large Coffee Filter into the Noodle strainer.
  2. 40g of loose leaf tea is about 0.75usd over here.
  3. Get tea started with pre-boiled or hot water. about 200ml.
  4. Add milk, I use 40g of tea to about 300ml of milk. Around $0.5usd
  5. let it reach a boil or near boil for 5 minutes. depends how you like it. Its tea heresey to let tea boil… and I’m a heretic.
  6. when done, fold up the coffee filter to squeeze out (futilely) what drop of tea I can from the spongy tea.
  7. Take it hot, or on ice. Up to you.
I can probably make 1L of  milk tea, with 70% of it milk, because of the water to start the tea. Anyway I could not find any tips in brewing milk tea at home so I made this. Hopefully I get tips from comments.
