the draw backs of HIT vs regular Endurance Training (or Lactic Acid tolerance build up) it may take 200hr of hit to get the endurance effect of 60hr of endurance training on endurance but 60hr of endurance training will not give you the same speed and strength as 60hr of HIT. trade offs.
My current conflict is that: over time HIT is painful because the measure is shredding the muscle is: until it cant move, but Endurance is learning to tolerate a level of pain over a long period. Every Hit is a new threshold of pain that I cannot stand and I honestly shrink from it (it costs willpower).
My anecdote is I can run 8kph for 30-40mins but I cannot stand doing more than one cycle of Lifehackers 7min workout (12x 30 sec sets of different exercises with 10 sec breaks in between). I can sprint 3-4 times to 13kph for under 20 seconds but i perform worse than if I maintained a steady speed (I average out less than 8kph).
The bottom line is pain thresholds are relative and change, the metric of “Until I almost break something” is hard to sustain BUT at 10 mins a day its more sustainable with all the problems that come up that prevents us from having an exercise habit.
