Subjective Feelings as a Benchmark in Physical Stress

A feat of strength really should have recovery as part of the formula. Like a 2-min or 10-sec recovery between sets.
Disclaimer: I dont count my reps, I do a number of reps in a fixed time interval and let the App signal when the time ends. I measure when My muscle gives way or I stop relative to the 30 sec interval. Thats how I measure performance. Effort is measured in breathing and level of distraction (Like hunger and my mind wandering).  Typically I measure a workout by Performance and Effort.

Feeling benchmarks. i dont know how to phrase this better to search for any discussion about it. Here are my benchmarks or tests if I should stop or slow down.
It also would be better to have a feeling benchmark:
1) Loss of control of the limb and it may involve the already injured limb. Like my injured lower back.
2) It feels like I’ll break something, basically pressure in the wrong place. Pressure near perpendicular the bone or a joint.
3) Pain in the joints
4) For me, when its a core exercise, its when food jumps up in the back of my mouth lolz.
5) Nausea or loss of Balance. As I got older vertigo when I stand seems to happen more.
6) Breathing is barely keeping up with the oxygen demand. When I do the belly breathe and it feel like my consciousness / sense of surroundings is not as clear as it should be.
7) As hard as I can go while keeping the belly breathe pace of 2-2.5 sec breaths. If I lose breath control

I know I need to be consistent in the Breathing Aspect. Belly breathing should have been taught earlier, I did learn it when I was a kid in Judo Class at around 8 BUT it was never emphasized till I’m older. I hope to correct that with my son, where Belly breathing is the De-facto coping mechanism in emotional stress and physical fatigue.

I consider Failing to belly breathe as symptom of loss of control or self mastery.

I sometimes wonder how much more different my life choices would have been if I learned to Belly breathe earlier in life and all the more sophisticated coping mechanism that follow from belly breathing or basic meditation.
