When I am lost, some thoughts that center me.
- Break it down to the smallest doable action.
- A draft’s purpose is to get the idea out.
- Diligence begins with a question, that triggers a lot of other questions.
- Rituals and routines’ purpose is to begin to process overwhelming emotions.
- Forgetting or getting a distance from an event or happening gives us perspective.
- Skills engage our attention to what matters, instead of being distracted with our fears.
- We are not expected to fix everything, we use the Pareto principle to prioritize our resources in solutions that affect more of our problems.
- We use breathing to focus on the most basic needs. Sometimes all the problems and happenings make us forget to breathe.
- Formalities is a RITUAL of making sure we are mentally present in a decision or course of action.
- The impulse to fill our time with as many small wins and activities as possible is a sign of fear of prioritization. To act on the fear of prioritization is to begin a Draft (see number 2) of what should we be prioritizing.
