Results of my First Day of Leave and Studies.

I’ve started migrating from Pleco to Anki because there are key features that are easier in Anki than in Pleco. but Pleco is a great starting off point because the dictionary saves a lot of time instead of a workflow where I google everything every time I encounter a problematic work (it also has a more expanded list of words and sample sentences that is not in google translate). Here are my Key Challenges.
  1. Dead-end with Importing my History with a Card from Pleco to Anki. They are too different and when I imported the XML using excel (developer > Import XML) the rows don’t line up to allow me to make a Pivot table. Also that the score value is not spreadsheet readable and I don’t know how the ANKI score file is going to work.
  2. Seeking advice for this: I may need to cram putting a “review” score manually for the 1000 words I learned from scratch. These are words from HSK 1 to HSK 4 and a bit of 5 and all the Words in the HSK 02 Sample Exams that are not in HSK 1-4. That’s a big surprise, the HSK level 2 sample exams have Grammar and Vocabulary not tackled in my books. (I need to slowly incorporate New Practical Chinese Reader Book material 50 chapters into my review).
  3. I made the newb mistake of making many Decks instead of Separating them all by Tags. I need to learn…
    1. …how to efficiently clean up tags.
    2. …more about the Anki Desktop to clean files and consolidate decks. Consolidating decks. I imported an NPCR deck and want to Consolidate that with the Many Different HSK decks using the Simplified Character field.
  4. I’m studying Multiple Decks: Chinese, PMP, ISO and I need to train for RHEL SysAdmin. How do you Manage/Control the New cards to study? I set them all on only 2 new cards per day because I don’t know the practice of managing multiple decks? Do you guys use multiple profiles?
Feedback is welcome.

forgot to mention. One of the key things about Anki is I can put Pictures in a card to improve with my Conditioning.
