Mindfulness – Compartmentalized

It seems mindfulness is compartmentalized. Its really focused on the meditation, and where the mindset proves advantageous in most cases. I’m a person who wants one mode of thinking, which is not a nuanced approach. Mindfulness is really for when being “present” is an advantage. Which we can see in the inconsistencies of great spiritual people.

So its closer to Stoicism than I thought. It’s not like Stoicism where I’m learning not to care, and to focus on what I can control, instead of its allowing to shift my mode of thinking to where it’s advantageous. If presentness helps me not worry then that’s Mindfulness.

Of course, I can’t help but try to apply what I learned in mindfulness in more and more areas in my life where it’s advantageous.

One of the main takeaways of mindfulness can be seen in how anticipation of Pain and Fear makes it more intense. How our worries alert us but don’t make us better even if we have acted on these fears and distractions. Controlling the residue effects of neurosis is one of the key takeaways of Mindfulness.

I was hoping it would be the key to everything. SLeeping less, making my life balance, and being happier. But the acceptance of knowing fear helps us plan better, but we should limit the stress the fear creates to how we used it and bleed into everything else in our life is what it promotes with its techniques.
