Game in the Brain

 I realize with the family business – my thesis is the Work from Home and Hybrid Work* the question is – How much am I willing to risk? There is a way to make small gambles on improvement, every improvement will have a Trial and Error of success. 

Example. I’ve been a long advocate of blender, but EEVEE and the maturity of the tutorials has made it possible to get the same quality as VRAY SKETCHUP without paying 1000usd for a license of VRAY with EEVEE-Blender. So Nicco Salonga was able to make the proof of concept in the company, from 10 minute render with a GTX 1050TI to a 20 second render of a scene of a similar complexity and difficulty. 

There was many possibilities we could not make it work. There was a chance we couldnt figure it out. But we are so lucky we did. Now the question is that Will the company take that more calculated risk of shifting from SKetchup to Blender for Architectural Visualizations? 

How much we are willing to gamble? How much are we willing to risk? 

So my OJT Mico was able to make a GODOT proof of concept of our office. Basically the Idea is using Games Engines to make PLANT production planning tools, as well as Customer Planning Tools. Make it FUN to plan and design your office with your limited budget. It worked, Mico was able to make it work. And the question is Will the Family Biz VENTURE into this unknown. 

It makes me remember my DAD who made Comfac in 1981 the year my brother was born. He had a vision that computers would be the next big thing – and you would wonder why it was such a big gamble then and why we cannot fathom it now. So dad got into the Transformers, Back up power supply, and the essential support needed by companies like BPI, PLDT etc… to operate computers in the 1980s. Electrical Engineers knew how to make the Plastic Circuit boards and Components of the Trasnformers. I grew up with the garage filled with these tools and when I was around 12+ I was made to learn to solder and help the other electricians. 

So Work From Home and Hybrid Work. WEALTH transferring from the central biz districts into the provinces. People who will convert their Homes to a Work at Home area when it was designed purely for living in and not for working. As well as the Political Challenges of Hybrid and Work from Home. 

I dont want to GAMBLE, I’m an individual with dependents. I DONT GAMBLE. Companies who are ENTITIES that are inhuman – they GAMBLE. They gamble what the next big thing is, they SHOULD gamble and they are designed to compartmentalize the resources of Individuals from its Employees. 

Of course humans drive these corporations and its their risk threshold that applies the Human Biases to the Inhuman Entity. 

So many things may go wrong, just the TIMING, can bankrupt a company. What if we move too fast or too slow and we are late in the game. What if we dont commit. The FUTURE with WFH and Hybrid Work is INCLUSIVE GROWTH where someone can choose where they live and work from there. They dont take the burden of INEFFICIENT gov’t infra and planning – they go to where there is EASE OF DOING BUSINESS.  They go where the Gov’t is competent and this MIGRATION SHIFTS the population and demographics of an area. 

60-70M working filipinos. 20M are in the Calabarzon and Metro Manila Area. of those workers millions will work from their home and the allowances and tools spend in their communities instead of spending for Gas, Transportation, Renting 4000-10,000php/mo for bedspace in metro manila (An experienced professional earning 18-24k php per month). 

I WANT TO BE THE COMPANY HELPING THESE PEOPLE HAVE A BETTER LIFE. because I want to also have that better life. The professionals we help will contribute to making the community afford more small businesses, investment, and development. They will have a smaller environmental footprint.   

Imagine ERPNext and all the apps and integrations because its Open Source and we can get from India all the tech and expertise. The ability to manage more work and customer support. 

Imagine GODOT, Blender, and FreeCAD all integrated to help the company produce solutions for the clients. Allowing them to better Plan with Interactive tools what their room and furniture is going to look like. Like a SIMS and home builder game. 

Imagine a Company that will provide the custom solutions to make it all work, the IT solutions, and the necessary maintenance and repair solutions. 

We used to operate a Leasing space for BPOs and we are a FITOUT company. We know how much savings a company will have with Work from Home and Hybrid Work. We know we will be directly impacted if the FITOUT market will drop 1% because BPOs and Offices need LESS office space because they are getting talent and people to work from home. 

The Economic Impact of people NOT needing to crowd the cities less, to have service providers in their communities because – homes are not places that are EMPTY during work hours. The cost savings, environmental impact, the community impact. 

HOLY CRAP! Who doesnt want to be in that growth area? We have Regional branches, we have offices in CDO, Cebu, and Davao. Imagine that the Work from Home we help build with our ISP, IT, Fitout, and BPO experience is used to make the provinces more attractive to work in and More attractive for BUSINESSES to set up co working spaces and hybrid satellite offices!

Someone with more vision and more talent will probably come along. I bet we would we watching in the sidelines knowing we could have been that business. We would be watching and saying “we could have been a contender.” and saying “We could do that. and we could have done it better.” 

We would be watching knowing that as that market grows OUR MARKET WILL BE SHRINKING. that competition will be fierce and there is a RACE TO THE BOTTOM. more underhanded and principle compromising tactics will be used to eek out a smaller and smaller piece. We watch as everyone becomes disposable and the desire to give up becomes overwhelming and depressing. 

We are not hungry for improvement and finding new horizion and frontiers. We are not curious. We are not able to discover. We are cynics that believe we KNOW EVERYTHING and that the world is only pain and suffering. We have given up before anything has started. 

INTERNATIONAL. 

japan, USA, SG, India, Middle East, Africa, and other Expats migrating their teams to these Work from Home Friendly Cities. Imagine Japanese animators, professionals benefiting from the lower cost of living and household support.  

Imagine that it becomes more friendly, TRANSPARENT, and easy to do business that someone who makes 20,000-30,000usd a year would live here and afford maids, cleaners, and repairs here. Make it super easy to live here and work here. Developing world prices but doing Developed world work and incomes.  

*offices that are more modular and multi function to allow for some people who work exclusively at the office (because they prefer it or have no other option), that many or most of the staff Work From Home and only go to the office for rare occasions.
