migrating 300 desktops to Linux because of Windows 11. Main Issues and notes.

3) What about Autocad and Sketchup – Migrating to LibreCad and FreeCAD and keeping a virtualized desktop we can remote to convert these files (Technicals will activate the remote desktop to download or use it to convert files)? 4)Trainability of the Company. the average age of the company is shifting as my parent’s generation is transitioning. the Average age will go down and the trainability will go up. (current average age is 40s and it can go down to 30s as the older members retire) As well as we will continue to use Indian services to Skill up our people because its 1/3-1/10 the cost of Local Training.
TRIGGERING points – as an IT director and business owner
1) 2025 our machines will be 10 years old and we cannot afford to replace 300 machines, 7.5M if we assume only machines will be replaced with i3/r3 8GB 120SSD. 4) STEAMDECK will increase the Linux Ecosystem population by 10M in the next 2-5 years. As companies move to support linux there are more need for Linux Administrators.
5) Successfully finding Indian Vendors who charge 1/3-1/10 local prices for Training, Tech Support, and are x20-x100x the SIZE of the philippine market.
6) if the Leader Publicly Learns NEW things like Orbital Mechanics, Programming, Networking, then the CULTURE of the Organization is PEER PRESSURED into being the type of person the leader is. Those who cannot signal alignment in company culture will lack credibility as the Leader sets the Cultural Signals of “being in team”. If the leader takes a hands-on role in Training people – in teaching Thinking Skills then its possible. I have Company Accessible GDOCS of all the things I know and how I think that anyone can recreate my psychological profile and skill base.
7) A very Modest Cost of Living and Company owner lifestyle – this cannot be done if people perceive me as “different” if the Traditional FILIPINO Status differentiation is eliminated culturally for a FLatter organization its possible to bridge the communication gap between levels of the Company. What does this Mean moving forward:

How does LINUX affect an Entire COMPANY?
1) The Price of IT Systems that are CLOSED is 10-100x that of OPEN SYSTEMS. that makes POWERFUL HUGE COMPANIES operate x10-x20 the efficiency of smaller companies paying so much more. Imagine if EVERY small filipino company of 50 people or less have the SAME ERP and IT systems for VPN and remote work and automation but paid 1/10-1/100 the COST. They are 5-20x more efficient.
For you to understand how COmputerization Affects the Company you have to understand how it affects Operations and Human Activity Scaled and Repeated in the Thousands of Times and how Errors create Rework and Risks.
