Efficiency Reflections on Emphasis and reality

Rotating detonating engine and Small Modular nuclear reactors remind me of nuance approaches to the technology.
That we don’t need to add more power to a thruster to get more output, more efficiency is just as important.
The way electric cars became more feasible incrementally, so did RISC, so did honda getting into cars, or Toyota becoming more competitive,
Gains in efficiency is so undervalued in most discussion I don’t know why it’s not a focus of most science reporting?

Looking for a science editor I checked out Fiverr and Upwork and so so many science writing and editing freelancers.
I did my own analysis how much words/ hour of content I need to produce ratio of how much writing and research I consume for the feasibility of me being a writer – for every 1 hour of writing I need to consume 2-3 hours of content and synthesize it, making me grossly inefficient at about 1/3 hours of the waking hours to produce a marketable good.   So  if I were  to put it at 10-15 usd an hour, my price for research and writing would be 30-45usd per hour. Making me inefficient -although if I were to price myself it would be a this rate because of the work to prep.
TOTAL cost of ownership is an analysis of what goes into making a good, if you can remove that step and the good would still be produced and works for the client then go ahead remove it.    My skillset is really in working in my company and organizing and planning the IT as I apply the context of Philippine market and conditions.

There is something so tragic about Company where it let’s go of people and they have to be freelancers. At the same time access to even bits of the knowledge and insight of these professionals can change other companies if there is a reasonable price to peek at this knowledge.

Seeing the knowledge on XCP-ng, Xen, OVirt, VSan, Erpnext, Next Cloud etc.. Being sold by freelancers when companies are charging an arm and a leg for these (6,000+ usd and no way to evaluate it) etc..

That efficiency is that these freelancers are less bloated than the companies that normally charge these services at x10 the cost.

Yet it is not sustainable, freelancing is great when I have youth and fewer responsibilities that can adapt to low periods.

I’m in my forties wishing I had access to this knowledge when I was in my 20s, and absorbed everything I’m passionate about like a sponge but now I’m having periods I cannot be mindful as I lose track of time in my head.

When I’m inefficient in the measure of freelancers, but that fails to factor the 80% savings in technology for my family biz and the open source path I can plot for the family biz? Getting VSan, pfsense, udp hole punching set up, next cloud for document management, erpnext successfully deployed, virtualize and migrate our old servers, etc..

I wish I can help those who help me even if I paid them to help me.

Right now we are discovering many Erpnext vendors and learning to engage them – from payment terms to how services are contracted.

This knowledge of logistics and processes is fundamental in efficiency yet its garbage to most people – they don’t see the underlying processes that creates their goods and services because they are struggling themselves.

As  a sense of recurring mindfog descends over me as I grow older and seek to figure out where I am, I hope one day to find a comfortable end.
