The Phoenix Project – How to Apply Kanban in our IT and Plant. These use case examples are what I’ve been missing to apply Kanban in the Plant. Particularly this critical element: Check this basic logic flow. How do you see Capacity? > how do you visual Capacity in a way a regular person can observe it easily > first you need to understand the States of Work > what are the states: Waiting, Working, Finishing, >> How How do you visualize Waiting time vs. Touch-time. In a different branch,>> How do you visualize Queuing? How do you imagine Work-center Flows and Production Line?
Mom always wanted to see capacity and efficiency, and we didn’t know how to do it. And it was impractical to do time study of EVERYTHING because we are a JOB-ORDER plant (meaning we don’t do mass production, we mostly do small batches). Now I realize that I can apply the KANBAN to visualize STATES of WORK IN PROCESS.
Right now, from Experience, this is going to be a January Project. How I’m going to apply Kanban to the Side of the Plant the Mezzanine? What are the SMART goals we need to make with this visual system? What are we trying to measure? My initial assessment is just Tracking Waiting Time.
