Tracking Pain and Discomfort

In the Great Courses, there was a CBT Lecture  by Professor James Satterfield and one instance they used a FITBIT as part of therapy. This is old news to me, but its news that this idea has some relevance and usage. So If-i-recall-correctly the Activity Tracker is used to guage heart rate and activity level – because Activity Level is a virtous cycle in mental and physical health.

The recent video on Doc Evan’s Lower Back Pain got me thinking about Mental and Physical Health again.

How would a Mental and Physical Condition Tracker Work?

  1. Tracks Conditions: from Stronger, Healthy, Weak, and Hurt/Sick. Can do this in 2-3 seconds.
  2. Tracks the conditions as they change status. Can do this based on Context of Conditions.
  3. Visualizes Conditions, Discomfort, Load of Work, and Pain over time. Visualizes Deficit of Satisfaction, Mindfulness/Centeredness, and Recovery.
    1. End of Day Summary and Edits.
    2. Allows one to set goals in Activity Level, Health, Mindfulness and Centeredness.
  4. Tracks Distractions/Decompressions, when your mentally not in full control. You self report and in 2-3 seconds you can report your status.
  5. Tracks Pain, has categories for pain, and Tracks Duration and Type.
  6. Tracks your personal report on your family and household. Because your work level and stress level.  Can do this in less than 30 seconds.
  7. Tracks your Work Level or your Stress Level.  How much work you have to get done in the day. How much were you able to accomplish: a deficit is clearly a problem or a distraction. Matching your work level and your accomplishment is the Goal for Mental Satisfaction.
