So I track my Expenses with a Google form. Its
I used to write it down in my A6 pocket notebook. Which took about 4-6 hours to consolidate per month. Then I migrated to a simple google form “Saved to Home screen” and I just input the 20-30 seconds at a time. I’ve been doing this since October 15 2015.
Then I started Pivoting the details and it auto Updates. So its Amazingly simple and effective for my needs Better is that its customization as I get more insight about my habits and my patterns. I’m not stuck with the set up and can easily Migrate to a New System.
I learned to do ANNUAL expense. Salaries, hard goods that take 1-2 years to pay, etc… all go into my Expenses in one sitting. Its easy enough to edit if it does not happen anyway.
My Expense is a Simple Form.

- Supplies (Consumables, Groceries, Stationary, etc…)
- Equipment and Services (Hard goods that last more than a year, services include my software services or Apps).
- Employees (the two maids)
- Family Members (by name)
- Health (my; includes well being)

- Home (Maintenance)
- Studies and Work
- Gifts and Social Obligations
- Cost
- Day
- Remarks
Status Form.
This is to track activities and Conditions. A key concept is “Average” example: “more distracted than average” is a status. When i Study, Tinker, Work out, get Sick, etc…
Previous Attempts was a Health Gantt. Which was to visualize patterns as I Colored the Dates I got sick and Wanted to see patterns there. I realized the right kind of Graphing Chart can do that later on.
Who.
(members of the family). I plan to use this to input if its me, or my kids or my wife.
Status.
The core measurement in INSTANCES and DURATION. With Gsheets being able to give “Days of the Week”, Week Numbers, and of Graph these all I’m expecting to see patterns in a month or a year. As well as my documentation to change and evolve.
This was initially triggered when I tried to measure how often I get sick and how often I feel “Weaker than Average” or Healthier than Average, and all the variances I am able to observe from my baseline.
Distracted is my Catch all for many kinds of Stress and Psychological Issues. Bottomline, if I’m “all there” I’m in control, but when I’m distracted I”m not all there.
Status Description
Details of the status. BPM, Temperature, Temperature of the Area. How Fatigued I am.
Date duh.
Time Start duh. For Days Long Conditions I consider 6am the “Start”. I dont really wake at 6am. I hope to one day be able to wake up at 6am and get 7.5-6.5 hours of sleep (which has a better REM and Deep sleep stats).
Duration in hours.
Because this include conditions these Events or Activities Jump in scales of minutes to days to weeks. Like if I feel weaker than normal thats a day or weeks thing. So i have to say 168 to 336 hours duration.
This is easier than Giving Time End. I’d rather give the approximate. Until We have smarter systems that can guess this, we’re going to rely on our intuition or impressionable memory.
