I’m not ready to advance to the next level of my Chinese classes but I find the schedule helpful in keeping me working as well as access to a skilled speaker is more expensive outside class. It works out to 7usd per class or 3.5 USD per hour vs paying for solo classes 30 USD per hour. Plus the networking opportunity. At 8 weeks per term with a total of 32 hours. I think I can hit level 1 in 100 hours.
I believe it will take 1.5-2x as much study for the next level.
So that’s 3 classes for HSK level 1
3-5 classes (1.5 years) for HSK level 2
6-9 classes (2 years ) for HSK level 3
So probably 4-5 years for level 3. Hopefully good enough to run games when I’m 40.
