It’s interesting when concepts I learned about in my 30s from books took 10 or so years to mature into usable algorithms after that much trial and error.
While I do love to train and give people the mature algorithm I have, being trained will only be 5%of the experience. growing up when 80% is self taught and getting informal feedback and ones own observation. My algorithms are trying to hit a moving target.
I want my kids to understand growing up I wasn’t a talented artist, I just happen to be naive enough to trust people about their feedback more than my weak ego. Which put me in the middle of UP fine arts class and top of my csb media arts class.
Its that weak ego that said – I can’t compete with the top of the class in artistic talent but I have computer literacy with some artistic ability (which shifted me to csb into media arts).
Paco velayo was my hashest critic and biggest fan when we were kids (he put up with my shit the most so it puts him as a “fan” ) . I remember explaining how much garbage my art was how difficult it was to swallow but I got much better. How I’m old now and only a tiny bit of the algorithms are paying off.

What they don’t tell you is that the algorithms only work when you have pdca hardwired. So this is how long it takes to get some pay off and it is surely probably a statistical anomaly and I’m seeing 2-5% of the picture and will hit the “Wtf” moment every 2-5% added information. This is so well conditioned it helps me maintain the cognitive dissonance – that despite the hope I’ve experienced the disappointment that comes after so much I’m in the acceptance stage and moving on stage.

Right now my son is going through device withdrawal and I’m trying to show him that the ability to create his own is only spurred by the boredom of your brain wanting action and endorphins and producing it himself. That he has to learn to create – in order to be able to study. When one creates they can feedback with themselves.
