Step 1: Download the Grayjay Desktop App
- Go to the official website or download link provided for Grayjay Desktop and download the appropriate version for your system (e.g., Linux x64).
- Save the downloaded file (usually a
.zipor.tar.gz) in yourDownloadsfolder.
Step 2: Extract and Move the Application
Open a terminal and navigate to your Downloads directory:
| cd ~/Downloads |
Extract the file (replace Grayjay.Desktop-linux-x64-v2.tar.gz with the actual file name):
| tar -xvzf Grayjay.Desktop-linux-x64-v2.tar.gz |
Move the extracted folder to your Desktop directory:
| mv Grayjay.Desktop-linux-x64-v2 ~/Desktop/ |

.desktopfile in~/.local/share/applications:

Add the following content to the file:

- Save the file (
Ctrl+O,Enter,Ctrl+X). - Make the
.desktopfile executable:
| chmod +x ~/.local/share/applications/Grayjay.desktop |
Test the launcher:
- Open your application menu and search for “Grayjay.”
- Click on the launcher to verify it works.
