Game in the Brain

There are Chinese classes in the Ateneo Confucius Institute of basic, intermediate, advance and practical speaking. There are about 6 levels in each of these categories. That’s 24 classes in all. But old age and real life gets in the way and my brain fails so often these days so realistically I would need to take the same classes over again and up to 3x. Each cycle is 7-8 weeks 3-4 hours per week.

 This makes it that to reach level 5 hsk of 2500 words so I need to take 65 classes. Two sets of classes a week would mean I could take 33 cycles to get to that level. That’s 8 years at 4 cycles per year. At 100usd a class that wold be but there is a 50% discount when I retake classes for mastery which would be about 30-25% off  to about 4,900 to 4,300 usd over the course of 8 years.

 7 hours a week (two classes, 3 sessions) and 8 weeks of classes makes 56 hours of classes.  But I need about 5 hours a week to study and that’s 12 hours a week and 8 weeks is at 96 hours a cycle.
384 hours a year. 3072 hours in all.

That still not enough but I hope to plow through that running games in mandarin. Storytelling and RPG related vocabulary would be my specialization.
