Sick Today – so I get to blog. Maxims, Imagination and Role-playing

Having a slight fever and cough so I took a sick day.
So i’m learning a lot and writing a lot for work. But I dont get to consolidate a lot of what I know into this blog. Which ruins or damages my memory. I need to write to consolidate a bunch of Ideas and Information into something Easier to Remember, work with and to Apply.

Lately these turned out to be “maxims” which is another term for rules of thumb. One particular Favorite is

1) Due Diligence – What would a Reasonable and Prudent Person do. //CISSP exam study guide

Next is

2) Imagine the Argument made by Someone you trust AND someone you know will always twist the truth and lie. This is particularly useful in preparation of presenting Data or a Claim.

A lot of mental exercises is in Role-playing.

Others are simple Mental Thought Guides

3) Everything systemic change is in 5-10% increments. Imagine the work you need to do and the amount of improvement you would average out every repeated attempt.

never try to influence someone 180` or even 90`.

4) If its not a Habit (at least one hour of practice and forgetful concentration) then its not going anywhere. See no.3

5) Always present Data Side by Side. Never see data in ISOLATION or by itself – let your CONTEXT engine kick into gear. List things down, Array them, Schedule them, etc…

Minds Chunk – it cannot juggle so many thoughts. So its important to TABLE or to put details side by side. Its important to categorize (even abstractly) and present information side by side.

Let me try role-playing as a Maxim.

6) If Possible play out a scenario and try to predict everyone behavior. Write it down or do it with an audience who would question or make you challenge your assumptions.
