Game in the Brain

 Intel’s right – focus on 1 core product and make as much money as possible from it. It will be decades before RISC or ARM will displace them, anyway with that much money they can buy the next upstart.
The decision makes so much sense – as an open-source fan-boi I can’t help but look at business decisions and look at how incentives are set up as well as the track record of others. Money can buy the next innovation at the “ground level”.

If the goal is to make money then this is the Optimum way to Run a business.

This teaches me that – their goal is to make money. Which can be differentiated from the GOAL to innovate. Innovation sometimes is not profitable (a fan of Google Wave) – a happy accident is making money with Innovation.

Inclusivity as a Goal will incur a Lot of Technical debt.

Goals Innovation vs Profitability.

Coming from the Philippines with its Oligarchy since Spanish times. I can describe it as Oligarchs having better-educated Children being “In charge” and lower classes will never catch up. If the goal of Gov’t was administration then the Most Educated people should run it. But the Goal of Gov’t was Include people, to make anyone have a chance for happiness then the Most Educated is not the primary requirement of Participation.

 The willingness of Filipinos to Work Abroad and send money Back, or have an Entire Industry operate in Different Timezones just for pay reminds me of how we are not equal. That to be included is something people will believe we are “Taking” and not earning. That Participation is what matters more. You can say its Pandering to the Ego of the Population. but frame in this way we can Say someone who can make people believe they are BEING HEARD is the most effective in representing them.

There are people who believe Gov’t is there to take care of People, thus more competent Administrators are voted. Some people believe Gov’t is participation – they elect people who represents their views – and their views may be sub-optimal for taking care of people.
